Children's Education Franchise COMPUCHILD Expands to Livermore, California

PR Newswire

Longtime Tri-Valley resident and technology professional brings hands-on STEM, AI, entrepreneurship, and life skills after-school enrichment to Livermore children

DUBLIN, Calif., Aug. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For more than twenty years, Ms. Asna Alam has called the Tri-Valley home. During that time, she built a career in information technology, raised two children, and became actively involved in their school community. She has now decided to share her experiences and skills with children in the community through after-school education, especially at a time when technology and education are changing rapidly in a world increasingly driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The uniqueness, relevance, and breadth of COMPUCHILD's programs led her to choose a COMPUCHILD franchise. Ms. Alam's new franchise territory will serve Livermore, California.

COMPUCHILD: Highest Franchisee Satisfaction and Best Quality at the Lowest Cost

Ms. Alam holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Duke University and has spent more than two decades working as an IT professional. Her interest in education grew through the educational journeys of her two teenagers and her involvement in the local community. She served as President of the PTO at her children's school and supported educational initiatives designed to help students thrive.

"Being involved in my children's education has shown me how much the right learning experiences can influence a child's confidence and interest in learning," said Ms. Alam. "At the same time, my career in technology has given me a firsthand view of how quickly our world is changing. I want to bring these two perspectives together and give children in Livermore opportunities to explore, create, and develop skills that will help prepare them for the future."

Through the new COMPUCHILD Livermore territory, Ms. Alam plans to offer a diverse range of after-school education programs that complement what children learn during the regular school day. COMPUCHILD's offerings include STEM programs for kids, robotics engineering, coding and computer science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, drone programming, entrepreneurship, financial awareness, speech and debate, and other hands-on enrichment programs. Classes can be offered through after-school programs, weekend sessions, holiday camps, and summer camps.

For Ms. Alam, the opportunity is about more than introducing children to technology. "I am passionate about helping children build confidence, creativity, and essential technology skills, but I also want them to enjoy the process of learning," she added. "Children should have opportunities to try something new, ask questions, make things, solve problems, and discover interests they may not have known they had. I look forward to working with Livermore families and the community to create those opportunities."

COMPUCHILD's approach reflects the changing skills children will need as Artificial Intelligence and other technologies reshape careers and job functions. Its Entrepreneurial STEAM® model extends traditional STEM and STEAM education by combining technology with three additional areas: financial awareness, communication, and ethics. Together, these four pillars are intended to help children develop an entrepreneurial mindset and learn to approach new ideas with creativity, practical judgment, effective communication, and a sense of responsibility.

This broader educational philosophy was one of the factors that attracted Ms. Alam to COMPUCHILD. "I believe COMPUCHILD's programs are a strong fit for what I want to bring to Livermore," said Ms. Alam. "The curriculum goes beyond teaching children a particular technology or concept. It gives them opportunities to think independently and develop skills across technology, communication, financial awareness, and other important areas. I also value having the curriculum, systems, guidance, and support of an established education organization behind me as I build something meaningful in my own community."

Welcoming Ms. Alam to COMPUCHILD, President Ms. Shubhra Kant said, "Asna's background makes this expansion particularly exciting for us. She has more than twenty years of professional experience in technology, but she has also spent more than twenty years as part of the Tri-Valley community. Her experience as a parent, PTO President, and supporter of local educational initiatives gives her an understanding of the community that cannot be created from a distance. We believe COMPUCHILD's programs are a perfect fit for her. They provide children with engaging, hands-on learning experiences while developing the technology, communication, financial awareness, and critical-thinking skills they will need in tomorrow's world. We are excited to work closely with Asna as she brings these opportunities to Livermore families."

COMPUCHILD has spent more than 30 years in after-school education, evolving its programs as technology, education, and the workplace have changed. Today, its curriculum includes technology and computer science programs for kids alongside entrepreneurship classes and enrichment experiences designed to strengthen problem-solving, communication, creativity, financial awareness, and ethical thinking.

Quality in both education and franchise relationships has remained an important part of the organization's development. COMPUCHILD is a Cognia STEM Provider Certified education organization and has received franchisee satisfaction recognition from Franchise Business Review for 13 years. Additional information about these recognitions is available on COMPUCHILD's awards and recognition page.

COMPUCHILD believes that a children's education franchise works best when national resources are combined with local knowledge. Its franchisees receive curriculum, training, technology, operational resources, mentorship, and ongoing support while developing relationships with schools, cities, community organizations, and families within their own territories. This allows local owners to build a children's education business while making a direct contribution to the communities where they live and work.

For professionals, educators, parents, and entrepreneurs interested in combining business ownership with children's education, COMPUCHILD offers a low-cost franchise opportunity centered on educational quality, community relationships, and long-term franchisee support. More information is available through the COMPUCHILD Own a Franchise page.
