PR Newswire

The free global virtual event returns with expanded programming, new continuing education opportunities, and $5,000 scholarships for nurses worldwide. Registration is now open.

CINCINNATI, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As nurses navigate an increasingly complex profession, questions about what comes next in their careers have never mattered more. This November, Nursing Careers Week returns to help nurses find answers—and new possibilities.

The event returns with new content, continuing ed, & $5,000 in scholarships. RNs register at www.NursingCareersWeek.com

Created by Health Carousel, Nursing Careers Week 2026 will take place November 9–13, bringing nurses around the world together for five days of free virtual programming focused on career growth, connection, resilience, and opportunity. From students and bedside nurses to international nurses, educators, travel nurses, and nurse leaders, the event is designed to help nurses take greater ownership of where their careers can go next.

Now in its third year, Nursing Careers Week was created to address a gap that has long challenged the profession: access to career development resources and opportunities hasn't kept pace with the growing demands placed on nurses. What began as a commitment to change has grown into a global movement, reaching nurses from across the United States and more than 45 countries in its second year.

Building on more than 15,000 registrations, 20+ partner organizations, and thousands of dollars awarded in scholarships and giveaways, the 2026 event will offer a more curated, high-impact experience organized around three programming tracks — The Empowered Nurse, The Resilient Nurse, and The Global Nurse — covering everything from leadership and entrepreneurship to well-being, financial wellness, and international career pathways for nurses both pursuing opportunities abroad and strengthening care in their home countries.

"Nursing Careers Week was a light in the middle of so much uncertainty. Before that week, my career path felt unclear and I often felt like I was navigating it alone. After attending, everything shifted. I realized there were more possibilities ahead of me than I had ever allowed myself to imagine — and that there was an entire global community of nurses walking alongside me." — 2025 Nursing Careers Week Attendee

New for 2026, Learn and Earn Day gives nurses a dedicated day to earn continuing education credits through free, self-paced accredited webinars — a first for the event. Registered attendees will also be eligible for $5,000 scholarships and daily $250 giveaways throughout the week.

"What nurses are telling us — loudly and clearly — is that they want more than a job. They want a career with purpose, flexibility, and a future they can actually see themselves in," said Earl Dalton, MHA, MSL, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, Chief Clinical Officer and Vice President of Clinical Services at Health Carousel. "Every nurse — regardless of where they are in the world or where they stand in their career — deserves access to the resources and community that can truly change their trajectory. We are proud to bring that back for a third year and make it the most impactful experience we have ever delivered."

Nursing Careers Week is supported by a growing coalition of healthcare organizations, nursing associations, educational institutions, and advocacy groups united by a shared commitment to advancing the profession globally.

Among this year's partners is Shannon McPeek, BSN, RN, Founder and CEO of Operation Happy Nurse, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting nurses facing stress, anxiety, and depression.

"Nursing is equal parts rewarding and extremely difficult. While we, as healthcare workers, continue to acknowledge the difficulties of the profession, some organizations don't. We partner with Nursing Careers Week because they do. They provide adequate resources for nurses to celebrate the rewarding parts of the profession while simultaneously acknowledging the difficult ones. They share the voices of nurses and give our community space to share resources and support each other. Nursing Careers Week helps support the real work of nursing, McPeek said."
